PGMA TRAINING FOR WORK SCHOLARSHIPS, can be availed either full or partial scholarships, in the business process outsourcing (BPO) industry: call center, medical and legal transcription, animation, software development and other industries with critical skills requirements.

To avail of the PGS program, one has to apply at the Tesda provincial office and undergo a career profiling assessment test. The result of the test will help Tesda determine what job category is suitable for the applicant. Fidellaga said, though, it is not compulsory for the applicant to pursue the course suggested by the exam results.

At present, Tesda has more than 500 accredited training centers in Cebu offering various training courses like automotive manufacturing, construction, electronics and health care services. Finishing courses on becoming a call center agent and medical transcriptionist are also available. Language courses in Mandarin, Nihonggo, Korean and English are also offered.

Under this program, a daily training support fund of P60 a day, will also be given to the qualified beneficiaries, so as to avoid or minimize training beneficiary drop-outs. The scholarship is open to unemployed, underemployed or employed individual, from 15-55 years old - who want to have a job or an additional income, increase productivity or for a career shift.
